People are fragile.
As much as we like to think we are strong and resilient, I believe that in this life we all are confronted with the pain of hurt and loss. Some we bring on ourselves, and others are simply unjust and undeserved. But regardless of the cause, the result is the same – loss. Loss of a loved one, loss of possessions, loss of employment, or loss of confidence and trust. As individuals, we each approach the recovery differently, and as time progresses, some memories can linger and others we forget as we try and move forward and rebuild our life. This is a painting of not only life restored but abundantly restored.
The gold wine jug is my life beautifully restored, the rubble of bricks scattered on the ground represents the broken pieces of my life over different seasons. The experiences of hurt and loss have deeply enriched me, I am no longer the person I was. I have changed, or may I say God has changed me. Through great loss, I have received the richest of treasures.
In the bible’s book of Job chapter 42 verse 10, it says
“And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed, the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
